To make a long story short, I threw this thing together in a few hours the other day when I was feeling a little down.
Time is the only real constant as far as I'm concerned. There really is a story behind this track, but it's not worth sharing.

The third and final version of my Spring mix. I released two earlier versions of this mix each with a major audio problem somewhere in the mix. I went through and made sure this third mix is complete. Please take the time to listen to a mix of all the tracks/mixes that I think are worth your time. I tried to include many newer tracks as well as older more recognizable things.
Enjoy as always, and thanks for listening.

PS. To the listeners that actually downloaded my first two versions, I'm sorry for my carelessness in completely missing both of those glitches in the mix. I don't know how that happened. Thanks again

First of all, I did not mix this. This was mixed by Modeselektor and was released as a digital download promo off beatport.com to promote their newest album a few months back. Since the download was free and widely available, I don't think I'm doing any harm by posting this. If anything, I'm promoting them some more.
Why am I posting this? I'm posting this mix to help push electro back into popularity and I think this is a pretty cool mix. I can see house making a comeback in the club scene with more and more popular music being housey. I hear a little electro here and there in the beats of these popular songs, but I think that there isn't enough of it.
Enjoy this mix by Modeselektor and start exploring the world of electronic music. There's a lot more electronica out there than anything else.

I threw this together this morning as an experiment. Nothing special here, but for those who care, this thing was made in Reason. This track is mostly emphasizing the glitchy beat that I created.. I just threw the synth and scratch sample over the beat to give it a little more substance. Check it outtttt

I've started experimenting with making my own mash-ups and remixes lately and will make a point of it not to post them on my podcast. I do, however, feel like sharing at least one to give everyone an idea of what I've been working on in my spare time lately.
There are no custom beats or anything like that in this one, but it's something I can definitely see myself playing at an event or on a podcast someday.
I had to throw in a lame "DJ Tolerance" sample at the very beginning to keep it my own.
Anyway, tell me what you think. And yes, I kept it simple on purpose; by keeping it simple I make it practical and by making it practical I can actually get some use out of it. Enjoy as always

Just sharing a track I threw together at DVC the other week. I played most of the track in Reason and exported the groups as separate audio files and imported them into Cubase to work with them some more.
I don't know where the heck I found the crazy samples I used, but I distorted the heck out of them for fun.
I was experimenting with plug-ins and equalizers quite a bit on this one and rather like the way it turned out.

P.S.
Unless you have a sub, you won't hear it the same way I do. In case you don't already know, I don't play any instruments, so these outrageously simple chords are hard for me to play haha

The idea behind this podcast was to start using unfamiliar music to add some variety to my mixes. I've had the line "a diamond in a gold mine" stuck in my head recently and mulled it over enough to realize that I need to start changing things to prevent myself from being just another DJ throwing out mixes in the graveyard of podcasts out there.
I've already tried to develop the most diverse podcast possible while still keeping it true to my style. I've yet to release any rock/pop/country on these podcasts because I'm convinced that those genres of music are perfect the way they are and don't need to be welded together in a hour-long mix. I will, however, start searching for more obscure hip-hop, house, D&B, etc to add a bit of originality to these things. If I had the money I'd buy a microphone to add some of my own ramblings, but that's something for another day.
Enough of my talk, here's another hip-hop/rap mix for you all. Please enjoy, and if you like what you hear then go ahead and spread the word.

Another typical drum & bass podcast until the end where I start throwing in my own spin on Drum & Bass. Throwing top 40 tracks over D&B beats produces what I think is an amazing combination of sounds.

I've really grown fond of this blend of rap vocals with the hypnotizing bass and beats of drum & bass. I might make something of this someday, but until then, please tell me what you think.

I've been experimenting with meshing pure vocal tracks with these D&B beats, but I haven't produced anything I'm ready to share yet. Keep your eyes and ears open for any new developments.

Some top hits from late 2007 and 2008 mixed together in a nicely blended sound-smoothie of sorts. I just blazed through some of the popular stuff I play at my gigs for a refreshing mix of recognizable music for all of you that are sick of my experimental sets I've been releasing. It starts off pretty chill but picks up towards the last couple songs. With the exception of one or two transitions, I'd say this is a pretty good set. Enjoy!!!!

I have decided to continue a more consistent podcasting schedule. This mix is to kick off a new series of mixes of whatever genre I feel like spinning that night. I plan to release straight up Hip-Hop mixes like always but also include some house like my original mixes back in the end of 06' and early 07'. I will be releasing more drum & bass podcasts as well as some good classic 70's 80's 90's mixes. You get the picture.
This mix has more variety than I would ever think of spinning on an event or in a club. As the title suggests, this is a practice session to mix together as huge a variety of tempos as possible. If you've tried mixing music before, you'll know what I was going for. Enjoy this mix! It's shorter than the others, but I rather like it
~~
I think I'll post a track listing along with the genre for each song:
1. Lead Us (Original Mix) - Black Sun Empire, Noisia [Drum & Bass]
2. Bomb The Blocks feat. Persia (Original 12" Mix) - Bassnectar [Dubstep]
3. Street Dreams (Noisia rmx) - Eurythmics [Drum & Bass]
4. Good Life (Feat. T-Pain) - Kanye West [Top 40]
5. PYT - Micheal Jackson [80's]
6. Bass Monkeys (Original Vocal Mix) - Hatiras [Electro House]
7. Put Your Hands Up For Detroit (TV Rock & Dirty South Melbourne Militia Remix) - Fedde Le Grand [Electro House]
8. My MTV (Patric La Funk Mix) - Noir [Electro House]
9. Tetris - 2pm [Trance]

I was working my way up to some Hardstyle to finish up the mix, but I decided against it. I'll release a full hardstyle mix someday for the heck of it

So to tell you the truth, I don't know why I haven't ever uploaded any of my D&B mixes. Here's one I did the other night as something to grove to while working out. The 170-180BPMs will kill you if you try to keep your running/biking in time with the music.

Anyway, I've been cutting back on my podcasts because I can't afford to keep up my online storage and bandwidth. Unless I start seeing a reason to keep this podcast up and active I'm not going to keep it maintained as well as I used to. You may have remembered a day when I had a solid 30 mixes all online and active and that number has been cut down because I have gotten nothing out of this podcast for the past year and a half that I've worked on it. I get roughly 300 page views a week, though I've never gotten a donation and I've only gotten minimal feedback from a select few that I know personally.

Being a full time College student working two jobs and keeping up a decent social life, I don't have the motivation or time to keep spending the money to maintain a website like this. I still continue to have my weekly DJing gigs and that is enough to fulfill my urge to share music with the public.

I will continue to upload podcasts as I find time here and there, but this page will become more of a portfolio of my musical abilities rather than the weekly podcast that it once was. Thanks to all those thousands of you that kept listening through the year and thank you very much to the two or three of you that actually told me what you thought.

So I was working from 10:30am to 7:30pm today and when I got home I decided to throw down and record a holiday mix as my present to the world. This is probably the most spontanious mix I've released in a while meaning I planned nothing and just chose one song after the other on the fly. Due to the fact I recorded this entire thing and tried to polish it up by the end of the night, it's nowhere near perfect, but whatever.

Feel free to contact me about playing for any of your wild holiday paries, I'll see what I can do. If you can't get me to play a gig for you, then this mix will have to suffice until I do =)

I don't really celebrate Christmas or any other holiday for that matter, but I try to get into the spirit of things once in a while. Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year! Stay safe kids.....

Once again, thanks to all the Denon & Doyle folks whose remixes I used in this mix. You guys rock

Threw this Frankenstein mix together last night at 2am. I'm sending it as a demo to my Music Industry Studies Professor as my final project. I tried very very hard to keep this thing under 10 minutes and I got pretty close to that. This mix has more packed into it than anything else I've ever released. If you want a quick rush take a listen. I'll release a longer version in the next few weeks, but until then enjoy this little "preview."
I managed to keep it clean too.

Thanks to Mark A for the tracks!

Second version of the song I made the other day. I've been getting a lot of good feedback so I figured I wouldn't be lazy and I'd go through the effort to upload the final version. Not much has changed from version one to version two, but here it is nonetheless. Enjoy!
For those wondering... this was made in Cubase 4.0 using a Korg Triton, a Halion sampler, and a more than one VSTi.

Version two of my promo. I haven't had much time to work on mixing music in the past month or so, but I made an effort to finish this tonight. I'll be releasing a third version that has even more songs packed in, though I'm not sure when that'll happen. Till then, enjoy this mix of rock, hip-hop, funk, and house music.

Let me start by saying that I'm sorry about the delay in episodes, but I had lent out a cord to one of my friends and wasn't able to make the proper connections to record one of my mixes till just yesterday. I decided to make my return to the podcast world by having some fun with one of my typical sets. I tried some new things in this episode that I hadn't bothered recording before, but overall this shouldn't sound too different from normal. Good to be back, and enjoy the tunes as always.

The beginning of this mix was inspired by, or rather, is in many ways the same thing I played last night on my gig, but I decided to take it in another direction from what I played last night after the first few songs.... Lots of latin/salsa sounds in here, but it turns into more of a club mix towards the end. I think it's a pretty good half hour mix and despite the few things I could have changed, I'm happy with this one.

Two podcasts in the same day would normally be a bad idea, but most subscribers have heard some of this mix already. This is the same mix I have on my promo CDs that I would physically hand out to people. The reason it might sound familiar to my subscribers is because this mix is a combination of various other mixes that I've done in the past in one Me-Medley or whatever you want to call it.

I give you an hour of some of the funkiest tracks I have. I really had been planning to do this mix for quite some time now, but only recently went on a "shopping-spree" to find some new sounds to work with. This mix is full of Chicago house which happens to be my favorite, so sit back, enjoy, and dance when necessary ^_O

Well, listening to this mix is going to expose you to several different types of Electronic dance music (EDM). I had a bunch of minimal, hardstyle, techno, etc that I haven't been using, so, I decided to use some of it. I don't expect everyone to love every part of this mix, but give it a listen all the same. I plan on purchasing a bunch of funky house tomorrow, so the next podcast should be really fun.

P.S. Feedback is always nice... There are times I feel like I'm releasing these podcasts for me, myself, and I. If I get feedback I'll be more likely to purchase new tracks and play music that YOU the listeners want. When I release a podcast with something new and get no response, I don't know if that's good or bad. You can help improve this podcast by letting me know what's up! Thanks

I did this mashup as a project for school, but it came out rather nicely so I decided to share it with everyone. I did a live recording of this on my two turntables, so it really only took three and a half minutes to make minus the 30 minutes or so of messing around with the songs. Anyway, enjoy the mix and remember that this is a DJ Tolerance original production, so don't be stealing it to drop in any of your mixes.

Yes, another hip-hop mix for your listening pleasure. I'm not playing this for my mother, but I figured mother's day would be a good excuse to release another mix. Some of the songs in here I usually wouldn't play, but I felt like doing something kinda random about halfway through. Anyway, enjoy as always!!!! I rather regret using Hips Don't Lie in this one.
